چکیده
(a) isomorphism ∼=, elementary equivalence ≡, elementary equivalence ≡α for Lω1,ω sentences of rank < α. (b) Isomorphism of countable graphs, linear orders, countable Boolean algebras is ≤B complete for orbit equivalence relations of continuous S∞ actions (≤B is Borel reducibility, S∞ is the Polish group of permutations of ω). (c) for ∼= is partially answered in computable model theory, with notions such as relatively computably categorical, where presentations of X,Y together uniformly compute an isomorphism if there is one at all. For instance, a dense linear order is r.c.c.

Note: These are my notes on part of chapter 6 of Ravenel’s Orange Book (Nilpotence and Periodicity in Stable Homotopy Theory), prepared for a talk in the graduate student topology seminar at Johns Hopkins. Jon Beardsley gave a talk on the first part of chapter 6, which reduces the proof of the Periodicity Theorem to constructing an example of a single type n spectrum with a vn-self map. For not...
متن کاملAn Introduction to the Gross-zagier Formula
These are the notes of a talk given by Prof. Dick Gross. The talk was the first one of a graduate student seminar held at Harvard, Fall 2013, and was aimed at providing an introduction to the Gross-Zagier formula and related things from an expert’s perspective. The notes were taken by Yihang Zhu, and he is respondible for any mistakes or inaccuracies. Please contact him at [email protected]...
